How Connect Four works
Click a column to drop a disc. It falls to the lowest empty cell. You play as the first colour; the computer answers after you. The first to line up four discs wins. A full board with no line is a draw. The AI looks a few moves ahead, so hanging threes get punished.
Why people stay for another round
Connect Four is the fastest ‘I can beat this’ board on the site. Games last a minute, the threat-and-block rhythm is easy to feel, and a slightly sharp AI makes a win taste like a win.
Tips
- Take the centre column early — it sits in the most winning lines.
- A double threat (two threes at once) is usually unstoppable.
- Block first, then build. One ignored three ends the game.
A 7×6 grid. You drop first. Get four of your discs in a row — horizontal, vertical or diagonal — before the computer does. Controls: Click or tap a column. On a keyboard, keys 1–7 drop into that column.
